I first built the model in Maya, then got texture map in Unfold3D, then bring the Obj into MB for detailing. However, all the dis maps I got out of MB are full of spikes and artifacts. The MB ducuments only says "Spikes, artifacts in the map are because LowRes doesn’t match close enough to highRes, bad UVs." That's more like a reason than solution to mehttp://www.mudbox3d.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif What does that really mean and how can I fix that?
I did try to smooth the mesh in Maya before bring it into MB, but it didn't seem help.
Eldee in the Mudbox forum suggested moving the uvs to keep them within the 0-1 space in the texture editor, I tried that but didn't help.Coule someone please ponit out the right direction for me.http://www.mudbox3d.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif
