I'm working on a real time project, and I'm building a real place, Borgia's Fortress of Nettuno (Rome)
I saw many reference photos, I visited it and now I must finish it.
I'm using a personal 3d engine made by a programmer my friend, now it's a simple Opengl engine but we want to add many cool features!
First two pictures are taken from 3d package (not from the engine)
Maybe I can add more detailed images..
This is a shot from original fortress!
It's a real shot, I'm inspired seeing much photos!!!
It's not finished, I'm working on the rest of the place and I must correct and replace many textures, but all work it's done!
It must work all in real time using shadows and a layered sky..I hope!
Now I must FINISH and optimize it!
Maybe I release it as a Wrml try with VERY low detail texturing, only for pleasure...mmm..I'm not sure!

Nice work, I'm quite the medival arch. nut and I like what you have created. By the way are you going to fake any of your light sources? Textures look great too:drool:

Looks great, the windows on the main building seem to be a bit to small compared to the real thing though.

my main concern on these pics is the colors. it looks way too grey compared to the photo of the original place that you posted earlier. some color splashes here and there would be nice.
also those tree models look mighty wrong. the textures are very blurred and you should maybe try doing a more complex tree model than a simple X with alpha channel textures.
The architecture is well done, I like those arches. Try adding some more details though, like those plants on the main plaza.
Yes, it's too gray some parts of the model, I think it's the light because I saw the fortress in many hours of the day and I noticed the colour of the wall.
Look the 2nd pictured I put there, in the render some walls are very dark...I don't use radiosity or complex light settings..now..
Original txt of the tree is 512x512. You see 128x128 txt used to speed up visualization on the Modeler, if I want I can replace original txt folder with Hires txt folder..but Hires it's a base to create textures..mm..I must try other solution.
There are 15 000 poligons on the scene, I must try fps on the engine, then add something else..but you said the right, I must add plants and other :wip:
