Hello,maybe is late but i decide to get in to this challenge anyway.Here i posted my first stages of work.I liked King leonidas character since the trailer have appeared,so here we are trying to cach his amasing will full expresion on the face.So, good luck everyone!

Yeah, i can almost hear he screan this is sparta, good job on the expression, will keep an eye for this one.

This is the latest look of Leonida not quite look like but i hope will be when i'll get in to Zbrush to reproportionate the all model.:)So all this done today ,tomorrow is another day!

To Mihai Angelescu:Thanks a lot i hope the model will evolve much and much more then that but only in Zbrush this is possible(so i already started Zwork):) i 've seen some posts where people does not agree with the use of Zbrush in this conquest but i think the contrary-only there a good modeler can feel free to give life and expression to his model....

Am vazut modelele tale din portofoliu,foarte ok...bravo,mi-au placut mult si shaderele.

So here a little change to the expression ,i have to make some other few adjustments and after, the uv mapping ,just to be ready to get into zbrush for some aggressive poetry...:)

wow... the likness to "tonight we dine in Hell" is amazing. The base has tons of expression already.

Hey man, something I just came across. He may have Green eyes normally, but I just saw a closeup of his face and he's wearing brown contacts in the movie, at least they appear brown in every shot I've seen. I might go see it again just to verify his eye color on the big screen. I gotta go in and fix my eyes now. :(

Vicktorious ,sorry man but i do not agree with you,if you look better you can see under the sepia efect witch lies upon all film that his eyes still keep the green color....

tigertiger, i hope you'll continue with this model, because you've catched a great emotion with only that low poly mesh. And i see that it will be a great model when it's finished.

04-15-2007, 07:51 PM,this is a new stage of the modelling ,but now in still in progress and i have a lot of work to do(only 3 levels now) .I hope you like it for the moment, but will get better.
Turx ,don't worry man i'll finish the modelling at list, but i do not know about texturing and other not enough time for me becouse i do not have yet experience with skin shader and hair...

the face is really good. i cant wait to see him with more details .
For texturing you can start using a simple collor map and just add some small noise over (2-3 layers with different blur values) . In time you can add wide and subtle details where you need. is easy to spend 10-20 minutes daily adding 2-3 details where you need ... in time texture will become dense without working to hard ;).

Hello,this is another version , almost modelling finished,of King Leonidas.The textures ,realistic sss skin shader and realistic eyes and hair,probabely will come some time after the challenge is finished,but does not matter,i will finish it anyway!

Looks fantastic! I agree with Turx, the emotion is excellent! I would like to see you push it up one more level in ZB to see what you can get out of it. It could get totally nuts if you did. Also, watch out for the skin on the outside corners of his eyes. Looks a bit like an excess of fatty build up. Other than that, superb pixoling my friend!:)
