View Full Version : Recommend a good LCD?

Can anyone here recommend a good 17 or 19 inch LCD for games & 3d? I am sick and tired of my finnicky CRT. I am going to see if they'll let me exchange it for a smaller LCD (so, price is an issue). Thanks

Make sure you have a DVI-I port on your video card. Otherwise you might want to consider an upgrade.
both mac and pc.

Wow, that Samsung 191T looks quite nice. It seems to support both digital and analog. Does the digital output really make a huge difference? Can you recommend any good vid cards that support this? Thanks

Apple just lowered their prices on LCD panels.

There is a substaintal difference even on the 191T Digital vs Analog. The analog looks slightly blurry, while the DVI-I looks sharp as a razor.
Virtually any DVI-I card has excellent output.
I'm using a Quadro 900XL with Dual Dvi-i for my displays.

boy Greg, that shuttle is soo sweet! I would love to have a computer that is that small.
The case on the far right, how did you get thoes lights in the front grill, and what case is that?

Greg, what model of LCD is that on the left? I notice it has a smaller enclosure than the one on the right, which would be ideal for a dual-LCD setup.
Oh yeah, nice Boxx. :buttrock:

Its a coolermaster ATC-110 (original version). Hella sweet case. Its so freaking gorgeous. Its got a front wireframe grill with its own charcoal filter, stops a huge amount of dust accumulation.
Its main features are the design aestetics (its bad ass looking), and its removable motherboard tray. (ultra nifty for somebody like me).
I'll take some pics later.
The fans are the same ones I mentioned in a previous post, the coolermaster 4 LED fans. They're 25 db 80mm's with around a 32 CFM output. They're pretty quiet (there are 6 in the case and its still pretty damn quiet), and produce a noticable amount of light. Their especially cool looking if you look spot on, or with a lesser amount of light.
The display on the left is the Samsung 191T, (The one I recommended). The one on the right is a Viewsonic VG191B, which I'm trying to sell so I can buy another 191T. Hehe.

Greg: Do you notice alot of ghosting & streaking during games or dvds on your 191T? I have never seen an LCD up close, so I have no idea what to expect with this whole "ghosting" thing everyone's always ranting about.
