View Full Version : My XSI models are so laggy when they shouldn't be.

I'm using XSI and I have a 600,000 triangle model and it's lagging even in wireframe mode.

My comp setup is
Duo Core2 E6600
Corsair XMS 2x1GB (2gb total)
evga 7950 GT KO 512MB

I think those are pretty high end stuff and I expect better performance.

I also have a 1.2 million triangle model and it's really heavy.
I can barely move my view because its that laggy.

But in the past, I was using a 128mb vid card and a P4 2.4GHz CPU and 1GB generic ram. and it didn't even seem as laggy as this.

So something is really wrong. Perhaps my video card is not running on it's full potential??

can someone help me?

hmm odd. not sure why you're getting bad viewport speeds, could your models be really massive (scaled up really big), might be the version of xsi your running?
try asking over at, since its a pretty xsi centric question.
