View Full Version : Bumper sticker effect - anyone know how?

Morning all,

can anyone assist me with this problem: i have a logo for a clothing brand i'm designing an advertisement for at the moment, and i want to make the logo appear as if it's a bumper sticker that has been stuck to the floor. i have the perspective right, but it just doesn't look at all sticker-ish. all the tutorials on the net deal with web 2.0 style stickers or other annoying such things, it just doesnt fit something that is stuck to a floor. i figure it needs to have some air bubbles and maybe some frayed edges from being scuffed by people walking on it, but i'm at a loss figuring out how to acheive this and time is running out.

any input on this problem would be most welcome.

Thank you,

is it possible for you to post an image of what it looks like to give everyone a better idea of what you're trying to pull off?

i don't have any of the stuff at the moment as i'm at work, but i did a google for some examples, i can't seem to find any examples of the air bubbles i mentioned, but these do show off what imean in terms of the sticker being worn. basically what i'm trying to do is make it look as though someone has stuck a sticker of the logo onto a wooden floor.

like this one:

although i want it to show some age, like this rather sad looking bumper sticker:

here is a good tutorial for that...

just do something like this before you place the image down as far as air bubbles would be concerned see attached image...i'd stick with the bevel/emboss technique, lighting effects will alter the luminosity of the image...
