View Full Version : Audio won't playback

03 March 2002, 01:30 PM
Hi folks, small problem, I can't get audio to play from my timeline, file is quicktime MPEG format, just need to time some type with a voiceover.

My audio is not muted and I have audio playback while scrubbing enabled.

Any help would be really appreciated

Cheers, Nick

I am not sure XSI supports Mpeg, even if it's "disguised"
as a Quicktime..
Try converting the sound to .wav...

A couple of days ago, I loaded a .wav, and still it did'nt play
any sound... (play sound while scrubbing was on)
it did'nt even play after exiting xsi and trying in a new scene
but it did work, after a RESTART of the machine :)
maybe it was some hardware problem...

so you can try that too :)

As far as I know, you have to use a WAV file set to 22 KHz, 8-bit, mono setting. XSI doesn't seem to like anything higher.

You also have to make sure in your User Preferences (File->User Preferences) that "Play audio while scrubbing" is turned on as well.
