View Full Version : Applying animation to a different skeleton

02 February 2007, 02:03 AM

I have a large selection of animations (in .fbx exported from Maya 8) for a skeleton and want to appy those animations to a different skeleton (ie one with different rotation positions). The differences between the skeletons lies in the the rotation of the joints, ie the upper leg bone in the original skeleton while in T pose has a rotation of 90,0,90 (local) and in the skeleton I want to get the animations to the leg bone has a rotation of 0,0,0.

Is there a way to get the animation from one skeleton to another? All the bones exist in both and the only differences between the two are the bone transforms in T pose.

I thought maybe using constraints in some way? I figure this is a common problem :)
