Hi guys and gals.

Finally I had some time to make some thumb sketches yesterday, and among my silhouettes, I liked this one very much. The idea behind him is that he belongs to an ancient alien race, of wise and peaceful people. Of course even on peaceful races, conflicts exists, so they need some kind of guardians, and he was made to be one of the best. Known as The Enlightened, he has extremally calm and coldness in front of any kind of situation. Never is influenced by emotional reason. And he also has exceptional abilities with any blade based weapon. And is very intelligent, with a quick thinking, what makes him very smart to react traps or surprise attacks. It's a perfect shadow.

He carries weapons for long, medium and short attacks. And have those snakes attached to his body, that are independent minds that share the same body with him. He always is with closed eyes, making the other 4 senses working intensely. So he can detect enemies even if they are hidden.

I based my concept on Indian gods Shiva (calm, inteligence, no emotions) and Durga (killer, good with weapons, made by gods to kill). I have the idea to make a god like char because some people believe that egyptians, Aztecs, and other peoples had contact with ancient aliens, that come to Earth and share part of their tecnology with humans.

I hope you like my concept and give me some advices for make it better, for the glory of CGSociety!!

PS: this sketch is not finished yet, I'll refine it more.

very nice character design jramauri... hmm calm and coldness and god like.. super soldier?? thinking...

arent we suppose be an ancient race that awakened and angry...??? anyways looks cool.:scream:

jesuisankit: Yeah, we are supposed to be and angry people, but you know, for professional assassins and spies, the more coldness they have, the better they can do their jobs. I was really looking for a super soldier concept. But he has a weakness: He is overconfident on his abilities, so he doesn't carry anytyhing for self defense. This can make him vulnerable, specially when fighting against people with firearms.

Nice to see someone else going with multiple arms. :thumbsup:

I love the closed eyes. I hope you can give him a nice serene facial pose, make it clear they're closed on purpose. The flared robe bottom is cool, very mysterious, makes me wonder what's going on under there - six feet? tentacles? unicycle. Since you already have a bit of an octopus thing going on, it might be interesting to make the robe bottom less conical, and more of a horizontal rippling, kind of like a sting ray's wing/fin?

Given that the weapons are all hand-to-hand, how are you going to make them look like advanced alien technology? Obviously Vitaliy was able to pull it off last year.

I like ur concept . one need to keep cool in any situation just like Lord Siva but in order protect the one needs to furious like Lord Nataraj. I really like the way u hv designed the character with six hands and serpent all the way. And last but not the least attire is really looking great yaar. i love the attire.:applause: All the best my friend n keep up good work.:thumbsup:

Sorry for taking such a long time to answer people. I was a bit busy this last week

SeanB: Thanks for your input man. As you can see, I reduced the volume of his cloth, I wasn't happy with it too. About the weapons, they are just simple traditional looking hindu weapons, I'm not intending to make them look like hi-tech. My char is more mystical, and I want to explore this side.

There goes one update, showing more work on his jewels and cloth textures, as well on snakes. Hope you like it and give me advices to improve.

Hi Amauri,

I really like your Shiva + Durga idea on this character. He really feels calm and serene, on the other hand, it also feels like he will cut you up without hesitation if you piss him off lol ..

I assume that you are still designing his weapons? Being mystical and all, what comes to my mind is giving his weapons a lot of engravings / pattern designs on them.

Yeah, Kevin, weapons will be designed yet. I don't think I'll complete this model in time, but I'll complete him anyway. I want a strong figure on my portfolio, and this will be a good one.
His guns and clothes will be filled with patterns and jewels, like those gods statues that people find on Thailand, Indonesia and so on. Thanks for your visit on my thread.

Start modeling, after a long time.. :( It's a pitty, I wish I could have worked more properly on this model. There goes my ortho views of head and first wires.

There goes one more up. Unfortunatelly I hadn't the necessary time to work on this project, so it seems it turned into a weekend project :( Anyway, I want to see this model done. Let's go.
