02 February 2007, 12:04 PM
:) nice thumbs mate
bring some more

02 February 2007, 03:45 PM
i can't choose which one's better than the other. all of them rawks! :-P

02 February 2007, 12:03 PM
Thx guys, n here r the more "detail" drawings....:)

I somehow drop the first idea of having the big knife n come to an idea of killing the enemy with the "killing ray" that vapours from the character's "ancient" tatoo....
perhaps u might think that this "Shadow" is too cute . Anyway tomorow will post up the colour key....hope everything will go smoothly. Cheers :buttrock:

02 February 2007, 06:26 PM
She is cute, but there is nothing wrong with that! Being destroyed by a beautiful girl is even better then being destroyed by some ugly mutant. My Shadow is really "Cute" too, but I don't care and neither should you ^^

Killer Tattoo, that's an interesting Idea. The design overall is really simple, and I'm liking it, but i still feel like there is something missing that would give it a little more "Pop". I like how in the first concept she is chewing on a Reed, maybe bringing back that element would do it? Overall not much I can say, the design is pretty solid IMO.

The female Shadows gotta stick together, I look forward to seeing how this develops!

Hey SheriffNotic, thx for ur comment n it makes me feel more comfort v my design now.
Ok as promised, i send the only 1 colour thumb for the moment, look forward to some comments n good luck

02 February 2007, 08:00 PM
I have to say i really love the way you do your thumbs.
Your painted concept is friggin sweet as well; it reminds me alot of princess zelda.

02 February 2007, 05:36 PM
I love the colors, she looks like a desert princess. Those are some sexy hotpants. She is even cuter in color! I can't wait to see some geometry for this.

02 February 2007, 06:17 PM
i love your last sketch [farthest to the right] the wings make it.

can't wait to see more and in 3D.

03 March 2007, 05:41 AM
Hey guys, thx for the above comments:scream:
After the long offline period, i manage to finish the low-rez model with uv layouts n wip hi-res model....still need to scuplt on the body, cloths, "belt" that i could bake out the normal maps n time is running out . Hope everything will go smoothly....again, for the next few days. Good luck guys:thumbsup:

03 March 2007, 08:53 AM
She looks even cuter in 3D :)
Can't wait to see her finished!

Not sure if you're intending to but
Perhaps you could add some sort of symbol or design onto her brooch and the round shape at the end of her headgear. :P

Just a suggestion

Good luck!

03 March 2007, 09:46 AM
nicely done. little tall, but I think that adds to it a bit.

Better hurry :)

03 March 2007, 08:23 PM
I like how your model is going Danny, are you going to sculpt in some more details in the little bits and pieces or are you going to paint them into the texture? Have you made the low res model yet? If you did would you mind posting it? I am interested to see what your low res looks like for a model like this. Looking Awesome keep up the good work! :oD

03 March 2007, 05:11 AM
Hi guys, thx for the feedback.
Kerepres : ya sure, will try to put some interesting design on them:thumbsup:
ColdKodiak : You r right, its too tall (more than 8 headed height.... ), will definitely look into it, thx!
brokenpencil : ya i have got alot of sculpting works to be done, i think some small parts can b done with texture instead since time is running out

Here is the low-poly model:
vbmenu_register("postmenu_4227530", true);

looking promising! her weapon is cool, but where is she going to keep it when she's not using it? wouldn't she want a holster of some sort?

03 March 2007, 01:05 PM
Hey I like your style Looking good.

My DWII Thread:

03 March 2007, 06:16 PM
y good sketches and modeling.:buttrock:

I will come again to see advance and texture

03 March 2007, 07:58 AM
Hey guys, thx for the comment.

erik_j : hey pal, well actually i hav change the concept of not having any weapons for her since its the ancient issue, i will giv her the killing tatoo that vapourized from her hand when encounter v enemies, but might giv her a small dagger in case her hand got chop off...haha jus kidding, might develop a story for her after the war n make her my short film heroin :)

Well for the moment started the face texturing, still tweaking here n there for the normal maps, will post up the stills when time comes, so good luck to u guys too!

03 March 2007, 11:00 AM
good to hear! looking forward to seeing textured!

03 March 2007, 01:14 PM
Hey guys, im back v a few updates!!!:bounce:
Basically the model is done v 5792 tris, the tatoo n the killing rays is not finish yet, might need to try n error for it to look nice....n not forgetting the weapon she's carrying. Will do the setup soon n posing her on a platform then light her up, it seems still many things to do but 1 week is enough, i think......well tat's it for this time, good luck guys

ps: can anyone tell me how to show the polycount for the final image to b submitted? Im maya user, can i jus put the default maya poly count display? Thx!

03 March 2007, 04:14 PM
really nice leatherwork! :) only critique I have is she kind of looks like she's going for a picnic more than an interstellar war :D the mood is a little bit too innocent and too clean (appart from that tattoo/infection which looks cool!) etc..
and I think she'd look somewhat cooler with more of that leatherwork on her which is looking great! so nice to see good old brown sober leather garments instead of the latexlike black bondage stuff which's more common :)
if it were my model I think I'd let her hotshorts become something more semi-armour-like, covering more of her skin... maybe even if she's supposed to be exposed if she's like rather untouchable or such.
great work and again, the concept is great :) keep it up!

03 March 2007, 06:24 PM
erik_j : hey man thx for the comment. I also hav doubts of making her too clean as b4, now i hav added some dirt n blood stain on her so to make it like "seasoned" from war. Solution for the innocent look is by making some serious facial expression so tat she will be a less doll-looked warrior.

Here's the small update on the stains n the dagger design:

03 March 2007, 08:26 PM
a very cute face. and your texturework is great!

about the tatoo. it could be cool if it was glowing, and that the hand turned semi-transparent as the tatoo crawls out on the hand.(glows maps are funny) Or maybe not at all..?:) But at least i would reconsider the color of it.

the weapondesign looks cool, but i have seen it before, in baldurs gate (the equalizer). Not saying you ripped the concept.

03 March 2007, 12:59 AM
hakanpersson : hey, thx for the comment. I put the tatoo in this colour is because i still wanna link it v the "shadow" concept, the ray will b lik black smokes vaporize from the tatoo so darker col should match the concept...i think.
Grrr...damn the weapon did exist, well i will need to tweak the design then :( anyway thx for the tips

03 March 2007, 01:59 AM
hey pretty cool man unfortunately nothing about the character says ancient. maybe you could add/change something to help with that. good luck!

03 March 2007, 12:08 PM
A, I love this character, nice textures and very nice model. Well done and good luck.

03 March 2007, 09:29 AM
