Will post something soon... figured having a thread would help motivate me. :)

Okay, here we go, some quick silhouettes:
Meant to do more of these but kinda got stuck on the literal shadow idea... would love to hear what people think : )

Very nice Idea, you need somthimg more substantial to tether the shadow to the human than just straps, but Its cooking right now...

thanks - good point. Thicker bracer-type things around the arm maybe. I'm thinking the thing on the dude's back will be some sort of containment unit, which the shadow's torso would be encased in.
Now to come up with a more 'ancient' looking weapon...

some more sketches... still leaning towards the shadow-slave guy though.

those uberbig hands and weapons seem to give a good kick to the character, at least
in those silhouettes, cool idea that shadow slave

Thanks! - which do you think I should go with?

Very nice designs. Im diggin' them all but I really like #4 - looks like he can lay some hurt down.

those are some great ideas... I like number 5 myself on the last post... and number 3 on the first... That is a awesome concept... that you can unleash your shadow to do damage...

I think I'm going with #3, and hopefully will work in a few elements of 4 & 5... will post a new concept soon. : ) thanks again for feedback so far

started trying to work this out last night....
I think i'm gonna go back to the drawing board with this. I'm going to keep the basic concept - a guy harnessing the power of a shadowy captive creature - but I want to try to make it a ton more can-take-on-a-small-army looking. And more ancient looking. Just looking for something that I can really get invested in I guess.

new direction - feedback would be awesome!
Still trying to work out how the shadow thing is... attached, and stuff.

neat. it kind of reminds me of the 'unknown' character from tekken tag. she was a chick with half a werewolf floating behind her that mimicked her upper body's movements. cool thing about that character was the way it kind of 'cracked' & glowed as it faded out. might be worth taking a look.
on second thought, here's an idea of what i was talking about (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unknown_%28Tekken%29). i remember that looking a lot cooler years ago... lol
anyway nice concept. and i dig those hand cannons slipping on in & around rather than a standard gun handle.

Of all your designs, I think that one that's all white with the dark shadow on the back is the best. Doing a character in all light colors with a black shadow thing on his back could look really excellent because of the contrast and the different shapes.
