hey guys, long time since i posted here ..

Collings asked me to draw him a concept, so here it is ... it's still a WIP, but I can only work on it in the evenings, so progress was a bit slower than usual ...

Getting back into sketching was also a bit of a pain; I haven't drawn much lately, hence the slow start ...

but enough chitchat, here's my drawing, hope you guys like it :)

Those wings are very similar to most mecha designs... at least that was my first read... not that it's a bad thing, but I think wo may not care much for anime/mecha may be turn off by that... The head looks pretty wild, I like it!... I'm looking forward to more progress...

here's a small update with a close up of the head. A bit more fleshed out, it still needs a lot of work. My goal is to have this finished in the weekend.

you're absolutely right about the wings ... but I'm sure the rest of the design will keep the mecha look in check ... I do have to admit I'm somewhat a fan of manamune shirow's mecha designs ...

Thats a mighty fine concept youve got there senior, and I must say im fairly partial to the mecha wings as they are right now.
Certainly am excited to see this in 3d.

cool koen, great update on the torso and the head! coming along pretty nice :thumbsup:
i made some sculpt/sketch in keeping in mind the initial idea but i took some freedom! I tried to sculpt in an instinctive way. here is the result after 2 hours of fun of speed sculpting ;).

tin-tin: he will open his mouth just like everyone :D ( there are not hole btw the uper lips and the lower because i started the sculpt from a cube.

nice work collings. i think you can make the features more pronounced since they tend to be lost on a game res model. also the nostrill could be bigger. something about the eyes seems weak. i would say push everything more.
in addition to that, i think if you get get some gracefullness to the character it would help a lot. for reference you can look up images from dragonheart. btw, if you could show the sculpts grey shaded then its easier to judge the model.

Looks very good but i think he needs more definiton on his neck. Cant wait till you get to the body :bounce:

Thanks guys for your comment. I'll tweak the neck for sure.
Polycount for the head is 700k and i can't increase anymore,i have a really poor pc :D

I'm still currently working on the concept, update very soon ;).
