View Full Version : Character: Rugnock the Flamebringer

It's my first post here :bounce:
And here's Rugnock the Flamebringer.
He's basically a fire breathing dragon of my own design. Have just finished him off today, will soon start animating him - he's going for a animation short. Will probably post up some shots and/or wallpapers with him and some other dragons later. :) Response warmly accepted ;)

Would love to see the texture maps :)

I fully agree to the above said, but I think his tails misses details. It somehow stands out from the rest. Give it some spikes, divided it into segments.
And some transluency on that skin in the wings would be cool too.
Good luck animating him.

haven't i seen this before?? hhhm... man very well done can't wait to see some animation from ya! let me know once you got it up

but theres a lack of details on it. Maybe a small bump would
increase it, or a displacement. Espesially the tail...
Other than that: Great work!

Beautiful work, Dragons are one of my favoriate subjects. Great design and execution of the model, the Back although very smooth works very well. The claws on the feet look very thin to be but they also work.
It doesn't give me a huge sense of scale, it rather looks like a small miniture creature but great job well executed especially the bat like structure in the wings.

looks great, however from this distance it looks like the texture maps would not look so hot if you did a closeup. Is the dragon designed for closeups? If not everything is fine the way it is.

Thanks for the response guys... here are two closeup shots - the Rugnock himself and Lania (his girlfriend ;)) They are basically the main characters. As long as there aren't a lot of closeup scenes in the animation planned, closeup isn't the main purpose of the models. but there still are some - so the models are supposed to look good in closeups too. Their textures still need some adjustment - adding dirt, dust and such - i'll add that on a different map channel.
Have fun! I'm starting rig and animation very closely. Will post up a trailer and some wallpapers as fast as i can.
P.S. Uhh, sorry, no eyes here, forgot about it...:wip:

The Burninator cracks me up. You've got to submit that to Cartoon Network's Adult Swim.
