Is there a way to have natural pencils as brushes (range 9H - 9B)?

My photoshop version is CS2

Thank you

I'm sure you and I aren't the only artists who've struggled with this. The conclusion I've come to is that it could probably be done, given enough time for research and experimentation. But it wouldn't be worth it for me. May as well just use real pencils. :)

A few characteristics you'd have to nail:

* If you keep going over the same area with the same pressure, the amount of graphite on the paper reaches a "plateau" and stops increasing. You have to press harder to get a darker tone.

* Angling the pencil creates a swath of tone rather than a line.

* The markings have a definite paper texture to them.

More difficult than it sounds, especially the first one.
