View Full Version : ZBrush model as a LW template

I have been messing around with the design of this little fella for some time. I modeled and textured him originally in ZBrush. As I have been trying to learn lightwave since last year I decided to try animating a head.

This first image is the ZB head. I rendered a side and front shot and used then in viewports as templates. I then re-built the head point by point.


I created a set of UV's on one template and did all the coloring in photoshop. I did the same for specularity and bump.




I made about 30 morphs in modeler and used about 15 skelegons to make the bones.

I finally got around to doing a few test animations. All divx and under 600k.


and a few queations for you advanced users If I may.

1. I saw recently a thread about lip sync and one image had a time line with the sound file in it. Is this available in LW as I can't seem to see how to do it?

2. Would you normal use bones for a tongue or a set of morphs?

3. I need to make better eyes. I there a cool tutorial knocking around?

The LW model miss some ditales presented on Z brush ... But still looks really nice.
As fare i know ther is some way to load LWO to Z brash and paint directly - or i'm wrong?

To load sound - open scene editor and click Load Audio from drop down audio menu ... Then make sure to check ON "Play at Exact Rate" from Options panel.

Few suggestions - check the eye leeds morph it's looks strange then the eye's closed and use stepped keys for eye (or eye target ) to get more realistic eye movement.

U have some pretty good eye model on LW content directory
