Well since the forum is slowing down a little and most of the people that really know how to use A:M are here, How does this look?

I still have some modeling to do and I'm not too pleased with the scratches in the center.

Well I can't post it here, too big but I put it on angelfire those that can't see it on geocities will surely be able to see it on angelfire :)

Hay.That looks like the one that was stolen from my car. :) Looks good. How did you model the philips screws? The scratches on the dial cover look too even.

I think it's a very solid model, although I don't think I'd put it in my car ;) Was it modeled after a real-life brand?

Is the black texture a bitmap? The left front seems to have a visible seem of some sort, but it could be my eyes.

Good modeling job!

Thanks. The screws are really simple,(I was going to cheap out and make them with booleans but it didn't work:)) they are 4 point circles connected with hooks and cp's to a 16 point t(little t) shaped that was extruded. That's about it. Here's a picture:

The black isn't a texture map it's a procedual texture with a bump map over it. As for the seem, it was a bias not adjusted properly :) This is just a practice model it's not going anywhere yet.
It was modeled after a real radio(old one at that).

That's pretty good. Only crit I'd have is that the reflection on the *side* of the metal buttons is a little too clean or maybe just too much. Try a drop-off maybe or just flat out lower the %.

Also, you DO have some lights behind your panel there, right? Or somelighting solution for backlighting it at night right? ;)

I've only been playing with A:M for a year so I'm not too sure how to use the reflectivity fall off or even what it does(I guess I'll play with it:)). As for lights, I haven't got that far but I've thought about it. Thanks for the reply and thanks for those that have replied so far, it's been helpful.

Well I've added the dials, the case but I have a probelm. The front part of my model is composed of mostly of booleans to make a nice and smooth surface. I also have a trasparent boolean in the front of my model for the plastic on the radio but when I render I get the booleans that are behind the transparent boolean showing through(look at the picture below). I even have those booleans on a different bone(parent and child, the parent is not connected to any other bone). I have tried to fix the problem by using patches that aren't booleans but it doesn't work and I've also tried them as booleans as well. I still have few more things to do but here it is:
