since noone of my friends is interestet in this project i decided to post it here

this is my first attempt in programming a 3dgame, so its very simple

the goal(almost achieved) :
create a random generated maze
create a 3dmaze auf of the information given
walkthrou ability
not finished yet:
exit level, and create new level when reaching the endpoint
open the door to the exit with triggers

i dont know if its worth of playing or makes fun but with that polycount it could even run on ds, so please dont kill me for the lame graphics

That's pretty cool, does work. Funny, I was thinking of the same thing the other day after looking at this site:

Initial reaction:
The hanging vines are obscenely obtrusive. Reducing low they hang, and their amount would be great. It current makes me look down all the time.

I always looked in the upper corner at the maze itself. You should make it large, in the center of the screen and semi-transparent since being a maze game, the maze is technically the focus. You could handle this very much the same as Diablo 2, possibly giving the option to tab it off the screen for combat(?)

Getting that working exit level trigger to load the next level will be awesome. Endless gameplay.

While graphically, I imagine everything is temp, but the water(?) was probably the least effective. I didn't really notice it had an effect on it, till I took the time to move around looking at it. Ramping up it's intensitity counld help.

Got any plans for additional gameplay? You mentioned enemies, and since this is firstperson, I imagine shooting them? How about including a timer and score system? You could calculate an average run time based on a few random maps and score based on that, drop in a few items that the player could collect for bonus and possibly special items that let a player knock down a wall.

Anyway, just tossing out some ideas, neat project overall. Good luck with it.

the 2d maze was for me to prove if the 3dmaze is generated correctly,
i will make a secret key(hmm maybe shift) to activate that and the line that says "you are a cheater" when the 2dmaze is activated^^

that one billion maze thing is evil, making such a big maze wouldn't work without the 2dmaze
maybe i can increase the difficulty level by increasing the size^^ (that would mean, that i have to make vareables instead of 10^^)

the vines thing sounds good

I love it :)

I also codet in blitz for a while but didn't even get close to what you got there.

Some work an the Textures, get the exit trigger working and you are my hero. :applause:

ok, i optimized the filestructure, now its possible to post a version ^^

I ain't read the other posts apart from yours but here goes.

**** what your friends think, even if the only person who thinks its cool is you (or your mum) then that's a step in the right direction.

The fact of the matter is that even in you create a game or level which blows the brains out of the planet, you will still get shit loads of people saying its shite.

You've made something, its good (not great) and so the next thing you make will be better, nd the thing after that....

...and after that...

.... and after that, as long as you strive towards standards that you set yourself, and only yourself, don't let others tell you your crap, as they are those that haven't got a clue what true genius is, just carry on being your own version of crap ! keep it coming dude.

On the thought of what people thought of geniuss' ( or is it geni ?) here's a few comments people have said on others

i only sayed that, because i thought it's a cool saying

don't worry about my selfconfidence

i forgot to post the new verion
i finished the trigger/exit code, made new meshes for start and exit
and i deleted the annoying bgmusic and replaced it with a cool ambient sound
im still working on the restarting of the whole program when reaching the exit, now the program exits emideately...
