Hey guys,
as the titl suggests im looking for a good water surface shader.. or maybe a clue on how to build one?

anyhelp would be most appreciated!

What is your rendering solution? If it's Mental Ray, you can do some nice things with the dielectric_material.

while still in early production period, i think it will indeed be mental ray...

Ah yes I heard of the dialectric materials before. I shall give the tutorial a go..
essentially im dealing with a sunset over a fishing lake enviroment, Ive used a sculpted plane to make ground.
used the maya pond tool and converted to polys (then wrap deformed some geomatry to avoid holes in the mesh) for my waters surface.

Out of interest any ideas for a software based solution?
