View Full Version : animating water

12 December 2006, 04:27 AM
Okay guys hey, Um I don't know if there is any simple and or long answer to these couple questions but if you can help please do so.

One is that in vue 5 infinite I made a water plane (hard i know :P) and now I wish to animate it without the pre-animated textures it comes with.... Any help there is great.

Next I am using C4D and Vue 5 Infinite so what I'm tryign to ask is is that a good combination? Like what do the pros use to make characters, environments , etc say in a movie like star wars?

And finally does anyone know a good way to make liek a forcefield in either c4d or vue, and one last one is does anyone know a site that has royalty free models?

Thank you very much for even reading this.

1. Animating water - best choice would be to make a procedural terrain and use the open ocean fractal. That way you get all the functions needed for great water animation. Check this forum for links to some great video tutorials on this subject.

2. Might want to check into the Xstream plug-in for C4D. It's still in beta and buggy, but that is what they used for several movies.

3. No idea, but if you come up with a good material, share it with us!

4. Best places for models - ( (both store and free items), ( (best source of Vue models for sale - some free items).
