View Full Version : where this command "Ctrl+Alt+Shift+~" from?

hi all

My friend taught me a great tip "Ctrl+Alt+Shift+~" which grabbing bright area in PS. but doesn't know where is it from. My question is #1) Is there any command can grab dark area. #2) How would i adjust radius.

i've never used ctrl alt shift ~ and probably never will..

Apparently you don't need to hold shift.

And apparently, it loads the "~" channel (luminosity) as your selection. This is the same as ctrl-clicking on the RGB channel. If you press ctrl-alt-1 it will load the red channel, use ctrl-alt-2 for green and ctrl-alt-3 for blue. The other number keys work for additional channels.

You can select the dark parts by inverting the selection with ctrl-shift-i.
