Hi all!
I think there's no need for introduction, everybody knows who shrek is :)

I must win so please C&C as much as you can :D
3602 tris but the limit is 5000 tris

Nice work, you're really getting the form and look of this guy. Greatly detailed mesh on the face, though it looks a bit iffy around the cheeks and eyes.

I can see you're safely below the triangle limit still, but there are still some areas that can use reduction. The best places to start are on his shoes and the back of his vest. Too many polys are not needed for relatively flat surfaces. You might also considering reducing the mesh around his eyes and nose. Hope that helps.

Very close resemblance. Nice work so far. You're definately capturing the form and the textures are coming together, slowly but surely. Keep it up.

I'm new to this world and if I'm wrong corect me:
don't you thing if there were another row of vertexes in knee aree it will bend correctly during animation?
Looking for the textures to come.
PS: It's very well done job, sure you'll be runner up, and hope for winning the challange:)

cheeeers! :D

I think this is almost there man. the only thing that i think needs a bit of improvment is the nose area i think the tip of the nose might need to stick out just a little bit more, and lol i cant think of what its called but your missing the facial indentation that appears between the nose and the lips that kinda "U" shaped thing thats right in the middle below the nose. Other than that its spot on man good work.

Hey hey, not bad!

I don't remember seeing his brown outter shirt having that kind of texture...it's more like the white inner shirt's texture.

"I'm an Ogre!" :D

Nope, the texture is okay, but both need less bump, in my opinion. Especially the inner shirt. (http://www.hollywoodjesus.com/movie/shrek/26.jpg) Great job so far! I'm looking forward to the final character. :)

12-17-2006, 06:11 PM
wow looks about perfect, great job

12-18-2006, 01:11 PM
perfect ! no words !
5 *****

The only thing sticking out to me is the shirt. As you go up towards the shoulders, the texture becomes bigger than down at the bottom. Seems like that is a uv problem. So yeah the coat thing is the only thing, everything else looks real good to me :) great work!
