I would like to know what strategies exist with Maya if I want to do the following: Render an image as if seen through a 180 degree fish-eye lens, or as reflected by a hemispherical mirror.
I imagine it implies programming a special renderer function where the rays are thrown radially from a half-sphere, but my inexperience in the domain restricts me from knowing further. I am a programmer with *very* little skill in modelling.
I imagine this would be done in MEL? Has it been done before? Is it, perchance, already implemented in MAya?
