View Full Version : Super-hero action scene
11 November 2006, 07:50 AM
I wanted to do an action sequence, so I remodeled an old character into a super-hero. He's gonna be facing a machine I haven't modeled yet. Here's the first shot WIP:
Please leave comments and critiques. I'll be happy to hear some.

Well, no comments yet. :(
But I'm persistent. I finished another shot. Working on the third right now...

bloody hell thats nicely animated - the weight of him flying and landing is superb. Loving the hand motion prior to him putting his hands down on the wall in front and the facial expressions are spot on! any more shots? this is some great inspiration for me :D

Nice to hear positive feedback evey now and then. I'm working on the 3rd shot (not the next in the sequence, though). I've been doing a shot a day, but chances are I won't be able to work on it until next week.

I did it. I finished my third shot in 3 days. This shot is the 3rd to last in sequence.
I like to do the easy shots first. Only half a body to animate. ;)
Any other C&C, let me know.
Here's the link for the latest shot:

o dam u make me jealous lol wish i could animate like that.. love the shot of the guy flying down and landing that was awesome it looked weird with the shot where he just landed but once u added the begining shot it made it flow together nicely...nice facial animation i could never get the facial stuff right... nice character too put up the rig for download! lol..

Really nicely done. The only thing that bothered me was the lag in the finger joints as he puts his hands on the wall. It didn't seem to match the rest of the character's movements and my eyes were immediately drawn to it rather than his face... probably not the effect you want.

I know what you mean with the fingers. I see it now. I'll try and make it a little stiffer. Thanks for the crit.

Hey, looking good!
Did you try having him go up (middle pose) instead of a dip in the last pose? Other than that (which kind of reads a tad linear for me), you have your arcs in there...

Wow!:applause: Keep it up dude!
Do you also mind posting your story-board, some stuff you discarded etc?
I've just started animating-would love to see how u finish this.
If u have the time then can you write a short description on why u are doing a particular thing..... would love to hear what goes on inside your brain: why you are doing a particular something in a certain way and not another way.
