View Full Version : Maya Isometric Render Variation

I want to do an isometric render where the bottom right corner is perfecty vertically aligned with the top right corner of a cube or grid and the bottom left corner is perfectly horizontally aligned with the top right corner (like the default perspective view without perspective skewing). I searched the internet and all I found was the bonusGames bgIsometricRender.mel. This script seems to only render in one isometric perspective. I tried to rotate the cube in varying degrees without success.
Please help

You can make any camera orthographic. The option is in the shapeNode's "Orthographic Views" tab. To rotate an orthographic camera you need to either use its manipulator in another viewport, or enter rotation values in the channel box or attribute editor. You cant tumble the in camera's own viewport like a perspective camera would.
For your isometric viewpoint, you could group the camera so that you can rotate it precisely about the center or your world.
Then just render like you usually would.

...You cant tumble the in camera's own viewport like a perspective camera would...Actually you can:) - uncheck Locked in the Tumble Tool Settings. One quick way to open the settins is double clicking the tumble tool icon on the General shelf.
