View Full Version : RealFlow attractor problem...?

11 November 2006, 11:06 PM
Hi :)

The attractor daemon is giving me some unexpected results. I basically want the fluid to pull to a central point from two fill objects and form a blob. The particles pull to the centre but the force pulling them stops once they collide so I get a splash that continues to grow.

Spherical attractor type.
I've tried various amounts of force.
I've tried both affect options; force an velocity.
Nothing is animated.
No attenuation or bounding.
With one fill object the results are the same.
Particle type is liquid. When set to dumb the daemon works as expected.
Using RealFlow 4.2.

Please help. Thanks :D

I just did a test with RealFlow 3.1 and the attractor daemon works as expected. Must be a bug with RealFlow 4.2.

I vote the award from worst made 3D related software goes to RealFlow! Yeah I guess it kind of has a monopoly on fluid simulation so why make it fully functional or reliable.

I've tried using RealFlow since version 1 every time I've been sorely dissapointed.

You might try radically high external pressure or even add and crank up a viscocity daemon. Of course scene scale is also important for RF sims.
