View Full Version : Time In MEL & API

Ok heres my problem, Im using the api to dvelop a few custom nodes for a project im working on, i need to have some of the attributes on one of these nodes recalculated everytime Time increases. I swear ive read read how to do this somewhere but i cant find it now i want it.

If anyone knows how to write something like this in the API (or mel for that matter as i can use the MEL from within the API) let me know it driving me mad and im at a stand still till i figure it out

you have to create an inTime-attribute which is connected to your scene's time-node out. then you make an attributeAffects inTime -> attributeToCalculate. that's it.
if you only want to calculate when the time increases you have to create another attribute in which you store the last computet time and if inTime > lastTime you do your calculation.
