View Full Version : Mental Ray Shadow Prob

I am using mental ray for rendering my characters with plane background.I am using Fg also.The prob is that there is a black patch under the characters which is not following the character.Its just staying in the starting position of the animation.
Please help me out to avoid it.I guess its bcoz of FG.

Did you freeze your final Gather Map? Take a look at your mental ray render globals and look under the final gather rebuild attribute. It should be set to ON. Of course, you might come across the dreaded final gather flicker problem. Which I have not had a chance to deal with, in which case, a solution won't be available from me.

Ya i freeze final Gather Map.If i keep it on i ll have flickering prob.Is there any other solution to remove this problem.
render every 5th frame or so of the animation with FG rebuild off and draft anti aliasing and raytracing settings.
then final render your animation with FG freeze.
