Hi philip, good to see you posting here so often. your eye for natural color always amazes me. and the details are incredible ..!

I thought that first one was actual photo reference. Amazing attention to detail and atmosphere. The colors are awesome and you've captured you subjects very well.
I tip my hat to you good sir.

Thanks for your comments... I haven't done many portraits lately... been concentrating on some children's book illustrations and backgrounds for a (hopefully) new 2d computer game in the spirit of Monkey Island and/or Gilbert Goodmate and the Mushroom of Phungoria.
Here is the last portrait I finished - about 3 weeks ago. She wanted to be portrayed as a mermaid... loved doing it... I've posted it on several other forums, so you may have seen it already...

Niiiice stuff :thumbsup:
I like the first one best, the lighting is incredibly accurate!
Two notes for the others... on the second one I love the figure but the fire isn't as good as the rest. And the last one looks a little flat on the female figure.
That's nitpicking though, great work!
