Does anyone know how to make the curve UI control that appears in some Maya UIs? One example is the Stiffness Scale attribute in a hairSystemShape node. It's basically an editable curve that you can add points to and set the interpolation. Is it possible to recreate in MEL?

I just use this in the API, but i think this can be done in mel with the gradientControl - hope this helps

From the command reference for gradientControl:

"Currently the routines to get the value of a ramp structure (with interpolation) are not available through MEL, which limits the use of this control by end users."

So correct me if I'm wrong... but as it says, doesn't this basically mean that this control is useless for anything other than what it's already specifically being used for? (Assuming you're using MEL only.)
