View Full Version : 3Dsmax9 polygon counter?

11 November 2006, 12:26 PM
I used to have a polygon counter in my "utilities" menu on the right hand side.
For some reason in 3DSmax9 it seems to be gone? And i can't find it anywhere else, not in my help files. Anyone know where the polygon counter went in 3DSmax9? thx!

It no longer exists. The poly counter is now only via the above method. If you need more statistics (scene poly count, triangles etc), go to your viewport configurations and look in the statistics tab.

Stop! Stop!

Seems to be a nice tool. It can display the selected AND total amount of polys in the viewport. But, It doesn´t work with scatter objects for example.

If you have a scatter object with 10 polys a distibution object with 10 and you want to scatter an object at each poly, you should get an amount of 10+10+10*10=120. Right? Try it and you´ll see it won´t work. There MUST be a solution!

I went back to max8 recently, I've encountered to many small issues with max9. I'll wait for SP3 or something :p

Max 8? PLEASE!

8 is full of bugs! And which one has 3 service packs? RIGHT! Max 8 ;)
And like you see, the small issues are solvable.
We should open a "MAX9 - small solvable issues" thread... :)

"Sometimes" very good bugs solving is reading help...
...often we just don't know when and what button must be clicked...

Ok, ok, but pressing m for displaying the material editor is causing a crash...
I only see this in max 8!!

But we digress from the thread.... :)
