Hello everyone,

This is my first attempt at a low poly character and walk cycle. I have been using maya for just over a year now. ( ( (

Where smoothness? Face is not looking good... Show mesh?

Hi Arran. You're probably not getting a lot of response due to your content. You might want to post the animation cycles over in that forum for better critiques. The model looks promising but it could use some work. Could you post some more views and wireframes, concept perhaps? You'll get a lot more feedback by posting these items.

He's looking pretty good.

Things that I might work on:
His head looks a little plain. I think he could use a little more structure to his face.
It's been a while since I've animated, but I think he probably needs a little more motion in his hips and shoulders. Some left and right tilt.

Extruder - this was supposed to be a low poly design, so I tried to keep the poly count fairly low - that's why I haven't smoothed the geometry. At the moment he stands at 4096 polys with all of his gear and 2554 without.

JimmyMac - thanks for the crit mate. I probably won't make any changes to the model as I have him rigged, but I definitely agree that his textures could use some work. I am still fairly new to photoshop as well, so I have a lot to learn.

Steen - yeah - i think I need to exaggerate the movements a little bit more - the arm swing is also looking pretty dodgy. It's always good to have a fresh set of eyes look at your work. I must admit I have sort of put this project on hold while I start some new stuff, but I definitely intend to return to it soon.
