I can't believe nobody has posted on this thing yet! Man, killer little movie but there were a few things that bugged me. Your character designs and models are wicked, but your animation seems very rigid... there's almost no secondary motion. The camera moves in some cases worked but in a lot of cases the camera is very CG, and moves in ways that normal cameras couldn't possibly.

Hi again Corey, visually its looking great again the animation needs attention but im seeing improvements! for sure. After seeing this i hope you never show those creature things again which appeared on your trailer they sucked compared to this. Keep up the good work - Adam

Hi Corey, First of all, I'd like to say "Nice Visual", but the animation is quite stiff and the camera work isn't working at some point, I won't go about animation that much since one would be able to make better animation if he spend more time polishing his work...

I'll say about POSING , your poses are very weak compare to your models and amount of details you've put into your piece, neither the poses of the cyborg nor the spider seems to be a real threat to one another, your fight scene could be a lot more tense just by fixing the main poses, especially this pose below...

This pose , to me, only works with "Superman" and "Ultraman" , especially this guy uses some kind of turbine jets or anti-gravity engines not super-power like the heroes I mentioned above...

I can't think of good example, but the Rocketeer's pose on the movie poster would give you some idea, eventhough that pose is quite dull, but it gives you the feeling of going beyond mach speed and you can exaggerate from that simple one to get a stronger pose.

Anyway, Cool looking piece and hope to see your improvement!

thank you for the comments. I agree that the weakest link in my pieces is the animation. Compromises have to made when you're making a 30,000 frame animated short by yourself and my animation has suffered the most. Being self-taught I started out working on this with naive/ambitous goals but as more time passed and I needed to get shots "in the can" I didn't spend the time posing and animating that I should have.
In the entire process animating is the most time consuming relative to quality. Most of my models were built in 2-3 days(except the main guy), textured in 1-2 days but a great 3 seconds of animation can take a week or more, and so here's where I saved time and lost quality. I think I'll take a couple weeks and hammer out a Quality few seconds of animation just to test my skills.

P.S. Pommegenozide, good call on Ultraman-he was one of my inspirations/influences in building the character.

Hey, that's nice try!

I see lots of work you've done in here. Compositing, modeling, cloth simulation, particles, effects...keep going man! I like your visual style especially the first shot that he walk along the desert like Obe-Wan try to find Luke Skywalker. Just the animation itself still need more weight. His COG should rotate and go up and down a bit more I think. Anyway, you really like the lens flare? I know it's not wrong to have but now most people think it's cheesy. Also you've got a nice texture but it may look more natural if you blur some part. I think right now everything looks too sharp.

I'm pretty sure you've learn a lot by working on this piece.
