View Full Version : Newbie : where is the output window ?

I am not a Maya user, and I have to code some pug-in.
So I am learning Maya and its API in the same time. :-)

I am trying to do the first sample in the API doc, but this one refers to the "output window" to see the result. I cannot find in the Maya help (online and book) how to make this window visible.

Could you please help me ? I use Maya 7.

And sorry for the stupid question. :-)

The output window should be open the same time as Maya.

You should have a tab on your Task Bar (Providing you're using a PC).

if you print to std::cout, then on Win32 it'll pop up the output window. On linux, std::cout will go the the shell that started maya. If you use MGlobal ::displayInfo it'll be in the script editors output (button in bottom right of maya's gui).
