View Full Version : nvidia or radeon for laptop

there are alot of notebooks which offer either the nvidia go or radeon 9000 v/cards. running maya 4.5 which would be the best option. personaly i would prefer nvidia for compatibility, although sager notebook 3 gig system comes with only a radeon 9000 card with 128 meg ram.

r the radeons ok for 3d apps and gaming? are their drivers supported with maya?

and.... r the sager notebooks good considering the cheaper prices they offer..

im from australia and have never heard of the sager systems..

thanks heaps for any help?

I was going to get an Alienware laptop, but it looks like they are based on Sager machines (?) anyway, so might as well go for the 'original'. They are both cheaper and you have more choice regarding configurations. That 8887x looks bad-*ss (from a technical pov) !!!

I am currently browsing the Sager Forums to see if there are any 'issues' that might be of a problem for serious 3D. Should be ok performance whise (hey, I work on a 600mhz geforce2 right now , using 3Dsmax ) but you never know with those damn drivers...

Have you made any new discoveries ?
