Ok I'm pleased to say that I"ll participating in this challenge on a team with:
this will be our modeling wip thread and we'll be posting our daily work each day here.

Here is the download link to a collection or ref pics used for our modeling. ONLY DOWNLOAD THIS IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE HELPING OR ARE ALREADY AND HAVE CONTACTED ME PLEASE. Theres a limited amount of bandwidth that i can use and want to make sure to save that for those who are truly interested in helping.

Here are some wips of the main part of the castle (which really isn't a castle) the lab. And the South side of the bridge that leads to a shallow cliff that leads up to the estate.

I've started on a wagon you guys are free to tear up and use. What format works best for you guys? Unfortunately I can't committ myself to do alot of things as I've got a few other projects going on, but since I had some down time today at work I put this wagon together for you. I'll update this post with pictures in a bit, just letting you know I'm working on it.

Keiphus - Hey thanks this is awesome~! Format speaking in file? we're mostly using maya in fact i'm the one with the main scene so a .ma .mb file works. if that doesn't work .obj i think would work all around here. looking forward to what you have!

mrn - Just do something off the list there and post it up on here. check to make sure no one has clammed it yet or if it's already done. I'll post the refernce link for those of you who want to get started i've put together a .rar with pics for styles and ideas so we're all looking at the same material.

Great job guys! i'm really happy how things are looking i came home from work tonight and when i saw you guys posting your work awesome! I'm glad stuff got done while i was gone!

DarknosAurae - I love that door it's awesome! Good job with the props! thats the stuff that will make this scene come alive is those odds and ends we add in there!

Brazz - Good mail box i'm glad you took notice to bend the top. Although i'm not sure if it's going to blend in with the how this scenes style and era is we'll put it in and see how it looks! i got an idea where to put it! Oh and go ahead and post any more updates you have! the gate way you did was super!

Mitchell - You can do the well but it's got to look and feel like a real well ok!

mrn - The garage is looking like a garage but not the storage and garage type of building we're looking for in this scene. The table seems a bit large compared in scale to the building or it could be that the over height of it is to short and the windows give that away.

Nice one brazz. Mrn, I like the basics, but it still needs to be more run down and gothic style architechure. Atm it looks more like a modern garage.

mitchelhunt - It would have been awesome if you could have helped out dude! if you're going to be working on the next challenge i'll see you there then! maybe you can help with compositing? we're going to be doing the entire scene all the way threw to a shot.

which means---- PEOPLE - we're still looking for people looking to work on the Fxwars challenge on our team. If you want to make your own team and create some work go for it we'll provide our model to you for it thats what this challenge thread is for. it would be fun to see several fx wars teams and what each one will look like with the same model scenes.

who we are still looking for:

Matte painter
Lighting and Rendering guru (this scene i've found is difficult setting up the shadows to render right with something this scale)

Sorry for being so slow on the updates, Im still rendering stuff on my pc, Ill get around to do the pathway around the side walls of the room and board.
Btw texturing this should be a good chalenge for all of us.

Yea I know, texturing is def gonna be a challenge especially for me , since my texturing/uv mapping skills are not that advanced. But hey Im doin this for the practice, just hoping I can make it out learning alot of new things. Anyway keep it up with the modeling your doin great, hopefully I'll get some time today or tomorrow to detail the watchtowers and add things. Ttyl.

ok it's been hard posting updates as the scene is huge and takes quite a load on memory! so but heres an upadte of what it's pretty much going to look like today is the last day but theres some tweaking left i need to do with the terrain and models. All the models are complete it's now just the main scene that is being finialized. sorry i couldn't get another render but for now this is it. I had a problem with 2 models crashing the render and took me all this morning to fix it.

OK here's the final renders. Yes theres NO texturing it's going to be work. But what do you think? It's not exactly a castle but upon doing research, the pics i had found of berg frankensteins home and lab which i wanted to model after wasn't really a castle more of a wall with some large buildins and two towers. But maybe i didn't have enough pics that showed the entire area. So this is how i visioned having it. There is a capel at the top left. This is where Frankensteins lab is found.
Because this is how my story goes. Yes it incorrect. But since the piece is a concept so is this.
Frankenstein came upon this chapel of worship and was struck with the answer of creating life. How ironic it was that it was in a place of worship to god. So in having been given the answer he turned the abandoned chapel into his lab. Stunning that in a once holy place he creates his monster. So he built around him the buildings nessisary for his work to follow threw. and created his niche.

I wanted the chapel to have a different look in architechture then the other buildings but keep a similarity between them. and The team did so well working with this! We had a collection of pics used for modeling and i think that really helped everyone out getting ideas for there models.

It's different i hope but also welcomed.
Everyone did an awesome job on this piece and theres so many models! we attempted an interior but didn't get the scene fniished. So what everyone did was make pieces of and thats what we have alot of props and equipment for the interior. I didn't take part in this part of the modeling. Aditya was the one who put it together With Darknosarua.
