Title: Wolf Fenris - The Head for a Vikingship
Name: Kolja Pedersen
Country: Denmark
Software: 3ds max, VRay

This is a part of a much larger 3D scene. Itís the head for a Viking ship. The inspiration for this model is mostly from the old Viking ship "Oseberg" found in Norway.

The model details are all polymodeled, except a little bit of bump to create the veins in the wood.
The texture comes from a picture of an old shed I shoot on my last holiday to Gotland. A little tweaking in paint shop, removing nails and so, and ready it was.

Love the texturing and the modelling is great too. It reminds of the native Inuit art we have here in Canada. Any chance we could see the entire viking ship in a future post? How did you model the depressions, are they all modelled or are some displacemenrt mapped?
