View Full Version : Rock Bridge

Ok, so this is my first post of any kind of animation here. It's something I threw together in a few evenings for the "earth" challenge over at SimplyCG.

It has tons of problems, mainly becuase I simply didn't have the time to get to them before the deadline came.

here's my WIP thread over at SimplyCG

in the last post I mention all the things I think are very wrong with it.
Also, I should mention Tyson helped me a bit with getting the particle to lie flat on geometry, and the BG pics were found on Google. oh, and the car model is from a 3DWorld cd.

Go ahead and be harsh! :) i know its faults! but everyone over there seems to like it, so i thought i'd post it here too.

Nice little vid. I like the editing and the sense of speed and energy it conveys. You know it's weaknesses but since you wanted crits I'll just mention that the way the rockbridge form looks a litle strange. When it explodes it doesn't have a sense of weight. Maybe a few main large chunks breaking apart a little more slowly and falling slower would lend weight to it. Also, some more dusty explosions and lingering dust clouds drfting away in the wind after its collapse would add to the effect. I like that you animated the debris rolling down the canyon afterwards.
