09 September 2006, 08:34 PM
Hello, my name is Jeff Gaeta and I will be graduating from the Vancouver Film School in October. I would like to share my Demo Reel that I accomplished over the past 6 months at VFS. My focus was on modeling, texturing, and lighting. I used XSI, Photoshop, ZBrush, and After Effects. Your comments and crits are welcome.

Jeff, it's great to see your final project here, awesome job! You worked hard from the first day and the result is an amazing display of talent into an excellent demo reel! I really like Jack, I think you caught the perfect essence of this original character, but I also consider very professional that you showed multi-fasceted skills in the two other models. Good luck with the job hunt... I'm sure you will find one really soon!

WOW very nice job! I'm pretty much teaching myself and I'm just amazed what some people can do with these programs. What software are you using?

hey, nice work man. i liked the way you started the reel. only thing i thought was missing was a little movement in the character, may be the head turns a little or he blinks. anyways the models look great.

twocik23: Thanks you very much! I used Softimage XSI, Photoshop, After Effects and ZBrush. Work hard and you'll learn a lot...
mashru: I agree that a little movement is necessary. Thanks for you comments!
Lupin500: Thank you!

Congratulations on a well presented demo reel.
Awesome Buick, I think making it look clean and shiney is cool, but not as interesting as perhaps adding a few wear and tear types of details.
All in all a strong reel, good luck in the job hunt.

Your new cut is awesome. Great job on the reel man. Shows a nice big range of skills, instead of just ugly naked creatures. See you tommorow, good times :)

Hey Jeff - I'm digging this piece. It's not just a modeling reel that shows that you can sculpt, make interesting forms and create lifelike objects and creatures but also displys a good sensitivity to mood and tone. I like the way it is cut and how it transitions from piece to piece to leave me with a haunting feeling.
