I'm going to call this model done...still many problems but this was mainly to learn. The cloth on the cape/other bits is a bit too dark in the viewport, so I think I will render it out for the final presentation. I look forward to any comments/crit you guys might have. I need to come up with a better presentation for it, but I'm way too tired right now. Weights in at 3549 tris, textures are 1x1024 and 1x512 Cheers!

I posted this before in an earlier stage of completion when I was having trouble with alphas, but I decided to post this now in order to get some crit before I finish up the texture. This is my first attempt at a game spec model. Weighs in at just under 3550 tri's. I'd say the texture's about 75-% complete (not counting the weapon, which I havent done much too yet). I'd just like some feedback on the overall design/ color scheme, problems and any ideas for changes I should make. I see a ton of things that are wrong/need to be changed, but please help me finish this guy up :) Thanks!

Sorry for the large images, I can't figure out how to make thumbnail links...

He looks pretty good. The blood on his face isn't doing it for me; it just looks like a dark splotch, really. You might want to stress the colors a little more in the red sleeve he has; add some of the highlights that you have on his pants, because right now his sleeve is a much more uniform color than his pants are and it doesn't look as nice.

Tycho: thanks for the advice...I took what you said into account about the sleeve and the blood on his face :)

Good work! I like him a lot. Texture could use some work, but the model itself looks very good and I especially like the way you posed him.
I think you should give him a base template to stand on. I learned that this helps a lot when presenting your art. You could do a round template with a graveyard theme for example...
Congratulations on finishing this piece.

the design for this guy is pretty awesome. the model seems tight , butthe texture on the skin seems lacking, maybe some light bluish veins could add some contrast? also maybe add more saturation to the shading around the muscles. looks dope mate!

thrawn83: Thanks for the feedback...I have recieved similar advice about working on the texture on another forum, so I'm going back over it and trying to tighten everything up. I think I will model a base for him, good idea.

tsfalcon: Thank you for the nice words...I'm taking your advice on the skin and messing with the tones a bit and adding some veins.

Here's a quick shot of the updated texture...I'm trying to make everything sharper and add a few design elements to the armor to make it more interesting. There's still a bunch of stuff to fix, but I should have it finished in the next day or two. I've gotta finish him soon...I want to get started on other projects :) Comment/crit on my progress is appreciated.

looks much better now. The overall appearance has been improved.
I especially like the design on his leg armor. Good work.
glad you liked my base suggestion. Looking forward to seeing him finished soon.
One minor crit would be that the blood stains stand out very much now. Maybe desaturate them would help... just nitpicking.
keep it up.
