Does anybody know why I'm getting artifacts after using a shader node in my tree.... they seem only to appear where objects are overlapping.

My workflow: just boolean the normal map into xyz....

Any ideas? workarounds?


Edit: actually it occurs on non overlapping geometry too...

It seems like I have to bring in the normal map as a float.... is that correct... at least it seems to get rid of the problems...
