woa... surprised no one has commented on this; i really liked this piece. The atmosphere reminded me a little bit of "Brazil", and the facial expresions of the main character were really funny.
Nice idea, congrats

nice work Dorcus ! well done.
I enjoyed this. I liked the rendering style, the character design and the music was fantastic (particularly the score for the credits).
My only crits would be these..
im not 100% sure how he manages to get out at the end ... im not clear what the link is between the video camera and his eventual escape.. but regardless it makes for an interesting story.
I would love to see the same short with a lot more sound effects. Like his footsteps, and all the incidental noises... i really think it would add extra life to the world. The music is great but i think it would be so much better with full audio fx too.
the animation on the whole is pretty good.. but maybe he hits one or two actions that are just too obvious ( like where he points his finger in the air when he gets his idea... there are much more effective and less obvious ways you could have shown that thought process ) and there are one or two shots that hold a little too long showing him acting out `poses` rather than any real emotion that the audience could empathize with ( but there are moments that work very well... for example I thought his `drunkness` at the start was very nicely shown )
so yeah.. thats about it.... great little short, you should add some audio fx and get it into some festivals.

Thanks for liking my piece!
please take a look at this:
It's showing the trick of how to make Escher's illusion staircase in real world. The staircase only makes sense at one specific viewing angle, and that's the idea about how this guy can escape from the illusion. He just changed the camera angle, so the illusion didn't exist anymore. I am sorry that it's not so clear.
For the sound effects, I was thinking about adding some more effects too. But due to the time issue, I and my composer didn't have extra time to work on that. The good thing is my composer will add sound effects for me later on. :D

Wow, very creative. I love the story, your animation is very good too! I completely get the story and without dialouge. A+
