View Full Version : Nico Rehberg -- DemoReel 2006

09 September 2006, 12:28 PM

Well, I finished school, did some freelance jobs and this is my first demoreel. Since I've been a one man show up until now, I'm pretty much a Maya generalist with compositing knowledge, doing everything for short film from scratch to finish. But looking at my reel, I think my strongest part lies in creating characters.

Now I'm looking for a job where I can use my variety of talents. I'm located in Germany at the moment, but am willing to relocate.

Enough talk. Here's the reel:

Quicktime 7 H264 (

Quicktime 6 and older Sorenson 3 (

Thanks for your time, and please leave some crits and comments.

Thanks guys.
Yeah the girl had yellow eyes by concept, which were pretty hard to recreate in a realistic manner. Yellow eyes always look fake.

Loved it!

"Your characters have a very honest feel to them"

I was thinking the same thing!

Extremely well executed! The first two models are very impressive and such a great way to show them off. Is that a short in it self? You achieved a lot of character in the face of the boy. What is the hair? It's fantastic. I would have to agree about the yellow eyes....not a big fan. Otherwise great work.

J.Gaeta: Those short full motion parts are from my latest shortfilm - The Inner Child. I created the old man and the boy for it, they're the main characters. The hair on the boy and the woman is mayas built-in hair. Once you get the hang of it, you can do a lot of nice things with it.

Thanks again for all comments and stars, they do mean a lot to me after putting so much hard work into this stuff.

PS. Sorry for the downtime today. The servers at school went nuts. Everything should work again by now.
