View Full Version : BlizzardComp - Warcraft Character: Urisk

I didn't really hear about the blizzCompetition until about 4 days ago, and I thought it sounded pretty awesome so I started this.
Basically my idea was to create a new alliance character. Way back when Burning Crusade was first announced and they showed pics of the Blood Elves, I wondered to myself what the new alliance race would be, and thought of some ideas.
Of course the Dranei have been announced since then, but this is basically the idea that I had back before I'd ever heard of or seen any pics of the Dranei race.
Anyways, since about every warcraft race is based on mythilogical creatures, this is based on the Urisk, which is a goat-horse-man creature...thing from scottish mythology. lol.
First sketches to figure out the form etc.
This is the base character with any armor, etc. equiped:
Armor! (I SUCK at lighting, so please excuse how blown-out he looks here, I really need to do some better renders)
And some close-ups (again - crappy lighting)

I like it - the design is very original and well executed. The texture looks very much like the style of WOW. Is he going to have a weapon?

Yup, but I haven't decided what kind yet. I'll probably work on that tomorrow.

I really like it, very good job with the texture too. I agree that it seems to fit perfectly with the WOW style. Are you planning to do a normal map for it? Hope to see more, keep posting! :)

Made a couple weapons and got him rigged. I might still go in and touch up the textures a bit on the face.

Made some changes. I think I'm done with this. Theres a bunch of stuff I'd like to do, but things are getting busy at work and my daughter has been really fussy the last week so I didn't have any time to touch it this weekend.

Damn, that's cool! Nice overall creation, and awesome pose too.

Nice work, I'd tone down the shadows on the shirt as it makes it look like hes got boobs insted of pecks.
