Long time no thread, been a little busy :) Here are two updates from my mod... both pieces are c. 1100 tri's, 1024 map and have spec/bump (BF2 doesn't allow glow). Not much more to say, hope you enjoy... :)

The grenade looks great. The bomb looks nice too, but I think you could up the contrast of the scratches on the phone. Also, if that's duct tape I'd add some specularity to it and change the normal map, since right now it looks sort of like spandex or whatever they make the Star Trek: The Next Generation uniforms out of.

To me the grenade looks plastic like the stuff they make the chairs out of at school if you know what i mean  Maybe its supposed to be plastic and then you have done a great job but if its metal maybe you should have some scratches on it to show the metal underneath the paint?

Thanks guys :D
psychojohno, the top layer is a special non-corrosive type of paint which is applied in multiple layers I believe, so even though I've added scratches to the body, the underlying layer will still be paint. Afterall, you don't want to accidentally trigger a nade that delivers 1800 fragments ;)
Here's another shot of it, but you won't see the scratches or final diffuse on this one as I made this before finalizing the piece of above:

I think requiem2d is right about the scratches... People always want to see weathering and stuff, but don't forget that if you buy a new object, you try to hold it that way and don't damage it... This goes for frag-grenades times 10! :D Good work, can't wait to see more
