View Full Version : ikSC vs ikRP Maya 5.0 Problem with Foot

I've run into a known bug with Maya 5. It involves the ikSC solver causing the joints to move and rotate. The solution I've found through forums is to either update to 5.0.1 or use an ikRP solver.

Well AutoDesk has removed the update from their support site.
And the ikRP solver has a different problem.

In my standard leg/foot rig I use an RP solver from the hip to ankle. Then SC solvers for ankle/ball and ball/toe. When I try to employ an RP solver instead the ball joint does not rotate in X. I use an SDK foot roll attribute. The IK tries to pivot from the hip/ankle when I attempt to roll the ankleGRP (with pivot on ball joint) for a foot step.

I'm hoping someone can simply provide me a link to the 5.0.1 patch.
If not, then can someone point me to an all ikRP rig for the leg/foot?
