This is a project I've set myself basically to learn the in's and out's of creating vehicles for games. It may be used in a UT2k4 mod, but really I'm mostly interested in making as many mistakes as possible so as to learn as much as possible. :)

I'm nearing completion of the modelling part of this project so I thought I'd post a few shots in order to get some feedback. There may be a few additional touches to add and I still have some polies left in my budget, but the overall form is pretty much gelled.

Any and all crits welcome. I don't even mind if they're harsh, so long as they're accompanied by advice.

Oh, I will be mapping, unwrapping, and texturing this beast as well. If anyone has any pointers to any references that provide advice/insights on doing this for game vehicles, I'd appreciate that as well.

Almost forgot. The current poly count on this is about 4300.

T'is a very nice model, a wireframe would be nice :)
The model looks solid however there are a few little niggly bits that catch my eye for example:
On the third image where you can see the back, the turret piece (dome on top) has some very hard edges that look quite ugly, as highlighted here:
also you forgot to smooth some of the faces on the back of the tread cover bit.
Other than that it looks great, cant wait to see textures :D

More pics, plus a wire.

I totally redid the turret adding a lot more polies. As is, the model stands just shy of 5000 polies total.

There's a bit more work to be done on the wheels and then it's off to unwrapping.
