MGAC-022-Musical Instrument

The challenge this week is to make any musical instrument. Try making something different than a guitar. You can do a Sitar, Saxophone, Balalaika, Drum set, Didgeridoo, etc. Feel free to make your instrument fit a particular theme (futuristic, ancient, etc.)

The Limits:

1000 triangles
(3) 512 x 512 textures

Starts now (8:30pm US Eastern)

Ends: August 30th, Midnight.

Combined, they're 972 tris.

Nice model nibbuls. I think I'll join too this time. I've always wanted to model an accordeon :D ... or a... how is it called... mouth-organ :D

I won't be texturing it for a while, but it is like 750 tris. I'm probably going to model a strap or some smaller details, like buttons.

Looking good so far guys. I'm moving into my apartment for school today, and I won't have internet access for a while, but I'll try to make it to the school library next wednesday or probably thursday to pick the winner. If for somereason you don't here from me next week, then the person that has the most done (model+textures) within the time limit wins, or you can decide amongst yourselves who wins.
Keep the submissions coming, I'm interested to see what else you come up with. Later.

I'm a bit late for this, but I found some reference pictures of balinese gongs that I thought would work rather nicely. Hopefully I can do them justice in this short amount of time. :)

glow, normal, opacity, specular or whatever maps are allowed as long as it's not more than (3) 512 x 512 i think ...

I've modeled a harp. I have to add a plane with an alpha channel for strings and unwrap all instrument.

Only 6 polygons left to spare, I would have liked to add some other parts to the rope, but alas. Not really satisfied with the rubbed off paint either, but I've spent too much of my free time on this in the last couple of days anyway. :D

Haven't had any time to work on it recently. Here's a very early WIP... I hope I can finish this.
