Wish me luck people! I am going for the full 30 models... :scream:
Anyway, to kick things off: Here is my first model:
Model 1: Scimitar

This peice took me 4 hours mainly because I kept fiddling with the design of the handle/hilt. I created it using Blender.
I am rather happy with the outcome as it is my first decent sword I have ever modeled... though it wasn't 100% challenging... I had fun:)

Youre off to a good start there Zane, I like the sword design but the only crit is that I think you should flip the handle around the Z axis because if you were to swind it at someone then
it wont be comfterble to hold.
I'll probably be going for the Platinum aswell but Iam a little busy with my own projects
so will see how it goes.

Model 2: Howitzer

At last! my second model for this challenge is posted! This is a very old howitzer... not one of the modern day ones (obiviously!)... It took me 2 hours to complete (using blender) and I had some great fun modeling it.... I think these challenges are the best way to learn. Anyway I have been looking at other peoples posts for this challenge and everyone seams to have some great models and they very competitive ones too so keep up the good work guys!

nice Howitzer, Zane. I might consider modeling one later on myself.
One thing I noticed is that the wheels seem slightly faceted. You might want to consider converting over to Sub-D, or do a poly smooth to get rid of it.

I really dig the axel detail you've got going on there, and that yoke looks pretty sweet too.

Finally! This should have been posted yesterday but I fell asleep before I could so now I am one model behind schedule. Hopefully I can catch up on the weekend... but I am going to try and get another model completed tonight.
This model was done in about 2 and a half hours using blender

One thing I noticed, is the your cannon has holes on both ends. How is it gonna fire?

Awesome work- esp the Scimitar. But as Pdude2K5 said shouldnt the handle be pointing in the opposite direction?
