good luck with your plug, always nice with more alternatives.

It certainly seems that this will be a very useful plugin. IMO something like this should have been included with the Lightwave8.5+Vue5infinite bundle.

Sounds like a promising plugin BUT the $64 question, how much for it when available ?
Or what ?
We'll stay tune and see what happens.

Hey lightfreeze...I love the idea of your plugin...Is it possible to post a clearer version of the video on using the plugin?..I want to try out the demo, and find it easier to follow a video as apposed to text.

Same here ! Looking at the video, to me it appears a mile away (little box) and fuzzy (fuzzier when video expanded) . Not able to see it's potential.
Also heard about plugin price of $37. Is this correct ? Haven't seen any link to buy (not avaivable yet ?)

Its not available to buy yet but the price should be around $37 US dollars, will work on a better video.
You can change the settings at google video to see the vid at original resolution(640x480) or you can download it if that makes it any clearer.

Hi could you check to see if you have File/Options "resize and centre imported objects" enabled, it needs to be off

08 August 2006, 04:40 PM
Hey lightfreeze..

Your right it was I thought id have another go, but im getting an error "line 70 invalid object method open()" I cant run the plugin...Could be something with my pc..I tried to delete and add the plugin again, no luck. I'll stop now, cos I dont want to make your plugin look bad..Sorry bloke.

You must have deleted or moved the Python script, run the plug and click on the Python button to reset where the file is.

I`ll check the code to detect that, thanks

Tutorial vid for VueExport ( best quality if you download and view in Flash Player

08 August 2006, 01:13 AM
Hey lightfreeze..
I couldnt set the save as the interface wouldnt come up..
I got it to work again...I removed it from LW and from the registry and added it again and it worked, however my three objects from lw loaded into vue, but i could only see 1 in the preview render the other 2 seemed to also be in the same spot as the 1st...just to confirm the LW objects have to be frozen dont they? as they would normally to load into vue. I did unchecked the resize and center, no diff, and I have now run out of goes. there a way to top up the plugin so i can keep playing?..Im about to check out the new video.
ps. Im using LW 9..could this be a problem?

08 August 2006, 08:36 AM
LW9 shouldn`t be a problem, if you contact me by email I will send you a new demo and yes you need to freeze any subD`s as Vue doesn`t understand them

you get a better quality of playback if you download the tutorial vid and play it locally in flash player

Hey Steven...

I have had a bit of time to play with your plugin, and I HAVE got it work, and it works just fine!...There was nothing wrong with your plugin..IT WAS ME!
I'm looking at buying the plugin, however you ask for dongle id, how would i get that for you..Is it the lock id when registering LW?
Can you confirm wether or not you can export cloned objects from LW to Vue.
Great Plugin!..GOOD STUFF.

08 August 2006, 12:57 PM
Hi IvanB,
glad you solved your problems, the Dongle ID is the number printed on your dongle for LW, you can see it by going to Help/enter license from the LW menu, DO NOT CLICK OK AT THAT DIALOG OR YOU WILL OVERWRITE YOUR SERIAL KEY, or when you have the full version of VueExport it will ask for your license key and show you your dongle ID

Have attached a small script which will show your Dongle ID, in LW go to Utilities and click on Lscript then browse to the unzipped attachment,

Forgot about the cloned objects bit, to get clones to work you need to rename the objects in Vue so that they are the same as in the VueExport dialog, clones in LW get renamed clone (1), clone (2) etc, Vue doesnt do this, they all have the same name.

The easy way to do it is to import the base object into vue, rename to "base (1)" for example then right click on it and copy/paste. Then you only have 1 digit to rename :)

08 August 2006, 03:13 PM
did a quick Python script for cloning, select the object you want to clone and run the script
and it will clone the same as LW
