Hey guys

I am total programming beginner.

I decided to learn c++ because i want to create maya plugins in future. But one thing confuses me.

What is c++ builder and what borland c++ ? Borland is Delphi's creator.I know that , but my question is are these two same or different programs?

I would apreciate a lot if someone provides a link to trial version of c++.
I tried to find on the net,but i found lots of things that let's just say confused me:)

Looking forward to learn from you guys :)

If it's for Maya plugins, then you should probably get hold of Visual C++ Express Edition 2005 (a free download), since Maya under windows will not work with any other compiler. It's probably also worth downloading the Microsoft platform SDK to enable you to write win32 apps (and openGL, which you may or may not use in the Maya API). afaik, borland builder is a nice quick way of building up GUI's. Borland C++ is just the compiler i assume. But anywa, you will need Visual C++.
